The client wanted to remove a load bearing wall in the kitchen, prior to a remodel, to open the site lines to the view. They wanted a 26’ long steel ‘I’ beam exposed and stained. We rented a four-wheel drive forklift and other devices to bring the beam from the street to the side of the house. We made a hole in the house and brought the beam inside. Then we jacked the beam into place after installing the required shoring. The beam was supported by posts that were then covered by sheetrock. We finished the steel beam surface in place. Fosmore Construction takes the time and thoughtful preparation required for a seamless install of very heavy and long beams.
