Lake Forest Park

This Lake Washington waterfront home had a load bearing wall for a first-floor bedroom that was not being used. They wanted to incorporate the space into the main room increasing the living space. The top floor directly above the load bearing wall was the master suite with heavily tiled floors. We brought in a 28’ steel beam from the neighbor’s yard and lifted it into place with genie lifts. Not a tile was popped in the floor above as we took all of 12 hours to carefully adjust and set the beam in place.

A portion of the exposed beam was sheet rock wrapped and painted allowing an almost seamless transition and allowed a more expansive and usable family and entertainment space for future gatherings.
