Inside this split-level midcentury modern 1960’s home lives the heart of clean modern lines. The clients had very specific goals for their kitchen – to entertain their friends and family, gain more open counter space and remove the wall between the kitchen and living room to create a great room environment. Renovation included new kitchen cabinets that were painted in place creating a seamless look. Structural modifications included removing an exterior kitchen door and exterior steps allowing for the new 10’ window looking out to the yard. The installation of a beam in the attic allowed the removal of the load bearing wall that separates the kitchen from the living room. The tangerine and white tile is a custom handmade glazed clay tile which offers a striking contrast and echoes the colors of the main floor. Generous quartz countertops, new flooring and paint topped off an exquisite kitchen makeover. Design and construction by Fosmore Construction.
